More about Alex...
Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Alex grew up in the neighboring town of Port Neches and has lived his entire life in this culturally diverse corner of the state. He traces his interest in music back to playing the harmonica and singing as early as the age of five.
Alex began formal studies in percussion at the age of twelve, the fruits of which can be heard today in his exceptional rhythmic ability on both acoustic and classical guitars. At first self-taught on his father's guitar, Alex also began formal guitar studies at twelve years old, composing his first original work later that same year. He quickly found his calling as a singer/songwriter and continued to study both guitar and percussion throughout his secondary school years.

Like many young artists, Alex had his first public performances at open mic events at small local venues and coffee shops. He played with his church's praise and worship band and won Best of Show at the 2007 Port Neches RiverFest talent show for his performance of his first original song, September Rain. As word of his talent spread among other musicians, he began opening for other acts and performing joint shows at larger venues. He played full time as a professional musician while in college, averaging more than 250 shows per year.
Alex entered college in 2009 at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas on both academic and music scholarships as a percussionist and guitar performance major. He later transferred to the Commercial Music Program for Guitar Performance and Recording Engineering at Lamar State College - Port Arthur.
Alex was named first runner-up in the Eric T. Schabacker Scholarship Award and had the opportunity to study with the gold and platinum award winning record producer at his Winterwood Recording Studios in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. In late 2010, Alex spent some time in the recording studios of Night Owl Productions in DeQuincy, Louisiana with 20-year veteran Robert LeBlanc, to work on the first tracks of a yet-to-be-released debut CD/EP. Alex is currently working with several respected area musicians to collaborate with him in the studio, building on what he and Robert began in 2010.
